Churchboat rowing and night fires at Kolovesi: Musical performance at Ukonvuori

Churchboat rowing and night fires at Kolovesi: Musical performance at Ukonvuori

We'll row a church boat together in a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a music performance in the stunning cultural landscape of the National Park, in front of the rock paintings of Ukonvuori.

This year's performer is Sirkka Kosonen. Sirkka is a singer specialising in different styles and sound forms of folk music, at home in the worlds of both traditional vocal styles and experimental improvisation. Sirkka's bands include MeNaiset, Siba Folk Big Band and Perriin Tyssit. Sirkka can be heard both as a hanurist in dance music ensembles and as a sound improviser in multi-artistic events.

After the music performance, we will explore the rock paintings and row back to enjoy coffee, a sausage roast by the campfire and the night fire of the darkening evening.

No previous experience of rowing is required. The rowing time is about 20 minutes per direction, rowing together makes for a leisurely trip.

Price: 45 €/person includes rowing (incl. flotation vest), musical performance and a visit to the rock paintings on Ukonvuori, coffee and a bun and sausage roast.

Weather warning: we will not set off if the weather is too windy, but a light summer rain is fine.
